Safety and Awareness
Safety is of utmost importance to us. We have
The following attributes should be considered when selecting retractable barriers.
- A Braking System
A braking system should always be one of the first considerations when selecting a retractable queuing system. The retractable tape cartridge or cassette contains a powerful spring mechanism. When the barriers are disconnected from each other, if no braking system is present, both the tape and the tape end will retract at a considerable speed. This has, in the past, caused injury to people within the queue. One large retailer in the UK found theirselves in a lawsuit recently for this occurence.
- An anti-tamper tape end.
The anti-tamper tape end avoids accidental release of the tape whilst in operation.
- DDA Aware base shape.
The base shape is important. Can a person pushing a pram or push chair or a person in a wheel chair easily negogiate their way through the queue.
